Little tribute piece I drew recently to commemorate Pokemon Go. Its been great to play the game and talk to friends and family (and complete strangers) about a video game franchise that I love so much. I haven't been able to do that since Pokemon first came out and I was playing my Red version in grade school. Go Team Instinct!
I recently sold my old Surface Pro 2 and moved on to an iPad Pro. My Surface felt so hindered by Windows and its constant bugs and updates. After losing one too many files to a surprise automatic update I finally went for it and made the switch. Wasn't sure if I'd miss using full versions of Photoshop and Illustrator, but Procreate App has eased my mind. Here's my first doodle using the app. A little Lugia drawing to help me find my way around. More good things to come!
Its been a long time since I tried to design my own Pokemon. With Pokemon Sun & Moon being announced for a release later this year, I got really excited and decided to try to design my own set of starter Pokemon for the new game. I gotta say it was a really fun and surprisingly challenging project to create a set of starters I was happy with. Here they are!
The grass type starter, Tukanapi. The water type starter, Seadon. And the fire type starter, Pyrotops. I have tons of ideas for their evolutions so don't be surprised if I end up creating some illustrations of those as well. Which would you pick!?
A couple more video game inspired warm up drawings. Samus Aran and Zero from Megaman X.
